The Review Process

Pre-Submission

Before submitting, review our Principles to make sure your work aligns with Femthropocene’s foundational values.

Submission

All submissions are collected via our secure form below. This form will guide you through providing your contact details (which remain confidential), a brief synopsis of your work, and the piece itself.

Review

Once submitted, your piece undergoes a careful review. We assess each submission based on:

  • Alignment: Does it clearly reflect Femthropocene’s core values and unique analytical framework, contributing to our distinct voice?
  • Originality & Depth: Does it offer fresh insights, rigorous research, or a compelling perspective on women’s realities?
  • Quality of Thought & Expression: Is the core idea powerful and well-structured, even if the piece requires some editorial refinement?
  • Relevance & Impact: Does it address a pressing issue for women, and does it have the potential to spark meaningful discussion or inspire tangible action?

We aim to provide an initial update on the status of your submission within approximately 2-3 weeks.

Acceptance & Editing

If your submission is accepted, you will enter a collaborative editing process with our team. This stage focuses on refining your piece for maximum clarity, impact, and alignment with our editorial standards, all while preserving your authentic voice and core message. The overall length of the editing process varies depending on the complexity of the piece and contributor responsiveness, but typically ranges from 3 to 6 weeks from acceptance to final publication.

Publication

Upon final approval, your work will be published in The Femthropocene Studio archive and promoted across our platforms. You will receive full credit for your work.

    • While Femthropocene holds initial publishing rights for new, original pieces, contributors retain full copyright of their original work and are free to re-publish their pieces elsewhere 120 days post publication.
    • If you want your submission to be published anonymously within the Studio, please indicate this clearly in the form. We fully respect and can facilitate this request.

Note

Femthropocene does not currently offer monetary payment for submissions. Your contribution is an investment in building a truly unique intellectual and activist space for the liberation of women. Should the studio generate revenue in the future, it is our intention to explore options for contributor compensation, including retroactive stipends for earlier impactful contributions, as a recognition of their foundational role.
